If you are struggling to lose weight and are tired of running endlessly on a treadmill, it is time you introduce weight training into your fitness schedule. Here are some of my reasons why I would recommend weight training over any form of cardio for weight or fat loss.
IT BURNS MORE CALORIES
Weight training burn more calories. Yes its true! You may not burn as many calories while you train with weights but it increases your body’s ability to burn fat at a consistent speed for 48 hours after you are done training. In other words, weight training increases our body metabolism two to three times for up to forty-eight hours. Whereas in the case of cardio, the maximum calorie burn stops the moment your work out ends.
GETS OUR BODY IN AN ANABOLIC STATE
This is why I love weight training! Training with weights puts our body in an anabolic environment, which helps us add more muscle mass. More muscle means lesser fat. Muscle means doesn’t mean bulk but a more toned look to your muscle. And trust me if you are a woman, training with weights wont make you bulky.
HELPS US RESHAPE THE BODY
Weight training allows us to actually re-shape our body. With host of exercises to choose from for all body parts, training with weights can make your body look more aesthetic. Its actually addictive, a good addiction.
IT IMPROVES QUALITY OF LIFE
Besides making you strong, weight training will also help you maintain and manage your health by boosting your confidence. Your clothes start fitting you better, your body starts looking tighter and better. While earlier you were finding it tough to fit into clothes, now after few weeks into a weight training program, everything starts fitting you well. Awesome isn’t!
Weight training has great benefits, you dont really need a gym to train with weights, you can also invest in some dumbells and train at home.
