Every time we binge or eat certain food item which we should not, we always have a rationalisation for it. This is more of a self talk where we are trying to convince ourselves that it is absolutely fine for us to eat what we are about to. These are some of the reasons we give ourselves
- We live only once, might as well eat what i want to
- One meal won’t make much of a difference anyways
- I have earned this cheat meal
- I will go on a strict diet from tomorrow onwards
- This is my last cheat meal
- And the list is endless
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS DOING
Whatever i have penned down above are the explanations i found myself giving few years back. And it just kept getting worse. Because for me tomorrow never came, i kept eating junk, skipping my training sessions, hoping to start my fitness routine tomorrow. And that wait for tomorrow added ten kilos of fat on my body. Now when you reach a point like that you are faced with two options. Which were also my options.
OPTION NUMBER 1
Continue with what’s going on pushing everything till tomorrow.
OPTIONS NUMBER 2
-PUT AN END TO EVERYTHING AND ACT NOW
It was true test of my willpower, but i chose option number 2. It was very challenging initially, imagine saying no to the food you love. No cheat meals, exercising five times a week without fail. I am sure there are many working professionals out there who are facing the same set of options, waiting for the tomorrow. Here is my piece of advise,
-ACT NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
Its never too late to start your fitness routine! Doesn’t matter what your age is, just start before your body gives up on you
Don’t punish yourself by working out for hours or following a strict diet plan! Go slow, and build the momentum.
-ENJOY THE PROCESS
People often feel eating clean is more of a torture! Well it is not, it may appear to be for some, but just imagine what good will it doing to your health.
-GIVE YOURSELF A GOAL
We all have a goal be it career or our finances, but when it comes to fitness we usually are clueless, Just identify a goal, it could be as simple as losing few kilos, or looking like someone who you admire. Anything but just have a goal.
-BE FRIENDS WITH LIKEMINDED PEOPLE
If you have friends who like to party and eat pretty much everything comes their way, chances are you would also become like them. These friends will never be of any help to you when it comes to achieving your fitness goal. So choose your circle wisely
