Dont be stupid in choosing a fitness trainer

Posted by Tarun Gill on

Let me start by asking you a question! Who do you go to when you are unwell and need medical intervention? A doctor, desi hakim or a compounder, who claims to know more than a doctor!

Without a doubt, you would go to a Doctor for all your medical exigencies. You may seek a compunder’s medical opinion, but seldom you would act upon it. Because when it comes to your health, you don’t want to risk anything and want the right and credible medical guidance.

SAME PRINCIPLE IN FITNESS

Now if i would apply the same principle in fitness and ask you the same question! Who would you go to when you are struggling to get fit and need fitness and training guidance. A trained, certified fitness professional or a desi pehalwan, who claims to know more than any professional.

HERE WE WOULD RISK OUR HEALTH

Here i am sure you don’t really care! Chances are you don’t mind being trained by a desi pehalwan, because as per you and many people in India, the desi pehalwan trainers are not so educated and solely train people basis their experience with weights and fitness. But are you ok with that considering here also it is your health which is at stake. Do you really want to risk your health!

DON’T JUST GET TRAINED BY ANYONE

I am by no means implying that these desi trainers are not good. Some of them may be even better than the certified professionals, but they are hard to find. And as educated professionals don’t just give your health to anyone. Think and weigh the pros and cons.

People often make this decision to choose a desi trainer given the lack of options and also the trainer’s ability to add strength and discipline into their work out. Here is a news flash.

GOOD HEALTH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STRENGTH

People often feel that good health and body has a lot to do with strength. Honestly strength has nothing to do with health. It is just a by product of good health. Good health has everything to do with willpower and dedication. Same dedication which all of us have, it is just a matter of activating it.

WILLPOWER WHEN WE WERE KIDS

Remember when we were kids and had this dying urge to do well in life, which made us study so hard and push ourselves to limits. That is a classic example of will power. Willpower to succeed despite all odds. We never made excuses then, did we. I agree things may be little different now, but if you have reached this far in your career, i am sure you can take your body also to the next level.

BE WISE

Fitness Trainer can play a critical role in your life besides helping you getting fit and healthy. It is the trainer, who knows your health, strengths and limitations, sometimes even better than a doctor. So it becomes important for you to do your due diligence before selecting anyone.
